MONMOUTH, Ore. - The Western Oregon softball team will be hosting three position specific camps during January for girls ages 7-18.
The Winter Softball Clinics will feature a session for catcher's only, another for pitching and one for position play and hitting. The camps will include instruction from the WOU coaching staff and members of the 2010 Wolves' softball team.
The catcher's only camp will teach players on everything they want to know about the position from blocking, to framing and throwing. The camp will be on January 17th from 10:00 a.m., to 3:00 p.m., and is $85 per camper.
The pitching clinic will take place on Saturday, January 23rd and will feature four sessions based on age. The first session will be for children ages 7-11 and it will run from 9:30-11:00 a.m. The next session will be for ages 12-14 and will go from 11:30 a.m., to 1:00 p.m. The final two sessions will both be for ages 15-18, with the first running from 1:30-3:30 p.m., and the second from 4:00-6:00 p.m. The cost of these sessions will be $35 apiece.
The position play and hitting camp will be Sunday, January 24th. The first session will be for all outfielders and any infielder 14 years or younger. It will begin at 10:00 a.m., and end at 12:30 p.m. The second part of the day will be for just infielders 15 years and older. It will run from 1:00-3:30 p.m. The cost will be $50 per camper.
