Matson Hardie scored 18 points to lead the Western Oregon men's track & field team to its fifth straight Great Northwest Athletic Conference Indoor Championship. The redshirt sophomore from Bend, Ore. (Summit HS) became a two-time conference champion when he posted an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump with a leap of 47-3.75 (14.42m). He also took second in the long jump with a leap of 23-1.75 (7.05m). Hardie won the long jump at the indoor meet as a freshman (2010) before adding a triple jump championship to his resume last weekend.
