MONMOUTH, Ore. - The Western Oregon University Athletic Hall of Fame will once again open its doors as it inducts the 1996 WOU womens basketball team, Kipp Archambault, Irv Garrison, Megan Inglesby, Alicia Marshall and Wes Tilgner as the class of 2013. This will be the ninth induction class into the WOU Athletic Hall of Fame.

"I am excited and proud to be welcoming these five outstanding individuals and one terrific team into the Western Oregon Athletic Hall of Fame," said Western Oregon Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Barbara Dearing. "These deserving honorees had remarkable careers and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to recognize their wonderful accomplishments."

WOU will induct its ninth class into the Hall of Fame on Friday, October 25, with a reception to take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Columbia Room in the Werner University Center followed by dinner and the induction ceremony at 6:00 p.m. in the WUC Pacific Room.

Below is a snapshot of the 2013 class:

1996 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: After winning the NAIA national title during the 1994-95 season, the 1995-96 version of the Wolves accomplished the same feat. The team went 31-4, winning the national title and recording the best record in school history. The Wolves won their final 20 games of the season and completed the title run with an 80-77 victory over Huron in the national championship. Rusty Rogers was named the NAIA Coach of the Year and standout Sandie Graves was the most valuable player of the national tournament.

KIPP ARCHAMBAULT (MBB; 1976-80): A NAIA All-American following the 1979-80 season, Archambault is one of only two men's basketball players in school history to achieve the honor. He was a first-team All-District 2 selection in 1978 and 1980. Archambault led the 1980 team to a 25-6 record as he topped the squad in scoring at 19.6 points per game and finished the season third on the WOU single-season scoring list with 601 points. He also completed the year averaging a double-double as he hauled in 10.6 rebounds per contest. Following his time at WOU, Archambault went on to excel as a teacher and coach in the State of Oregon.

IRV GARRISON (T&F & Football; 1956-58): A standout track & field and football student-athlete, he was inducted into the NAIA District 2 Hall of Fame in 1979. As a track athlete, he was a NAIA All-American in 1958 after placing fifth at nationals in the javelin and he left Western Oregon with a school record of 217-5 in the event. A captain on the track & field and football teams, he went on to coach high school football in Oregon for 33 years. He was named the Oregon Coach of the Year in 1983 while at Canby High School and was the National High School Coaches Association Region 7 Coach of the Year in 1987.

MEGAN INGLESBY [Cooper] (Volleyball; 1989-92): Inglesby captured second-team NAIA Volleyball All-American honors in 1992 after earning third-team All-American honors the previous season. She was named to the first-team of the NAIA all-tournament squad in 1992 and was the NAIA District 2 Player of the Year. A two-time all-region selection, she still has the second-highest single-game kill total in school history with 39. The 1992 team finished third at the NAIA national championships.

ALICIA MARSHALL [Smith] (T&F; 1994-95): A four-time NAIA All-American, Marshall finished an outstanding track & field career in 1995 as she is Western Oregon's school record holder in the outdoor long jump (19-5) and sits second in school history in the outdoor triple jump (38-11.75). During her time with the Wolves, she established a number of career marks as she ranks third in the long jump (18-1.75) and second in the triple jump (37-8) in indoor track & field school history. She also holds top 10 career marks in the 100-meters, 200-meters, 55-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay. Marshall was WOU's top point producer in the conference and district meet her senior season and led her squad to a conference team title with four conference titles and one second-place finish. For her performance, she was named the Cascade Conference Athlete of the Meet.

WES TILGNER (T&F; 1986-87): A two-time NAIA distance All-American in the late 1980's, Tilgner still holds the WOU school record in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:44.27 (1987), a whopping six seconds faster than the second listing. He placed second at NAIA nationals in the event and is still third all-time at WOU in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:45.50. Tilgner captured district championships in both events and is a two-time NAIA District 2 cross country champion. He remains the only runner in school history to win a district cross country meet twice. Tilgner finished his cross country career with All-American honors after finishing in 27th-place at the national meet.
