Folkinga, a senior first baseman from Twin Falls, Idaho (Twin Falls HS), hit two home runs and drove in nine runs as the Wolves split four games in a tournament at Lewiston. He was 6-for-17 in the series with five runs scored and played error-free ball at first base.
Mar. 19-25
Folkinga had nine hits in 15 at bats and drove in 11 runs as the Wolves won three of four games with Central Washington. Among Folkinga's hits were four doubles and two home runs. Folkinga now leads the GNAC in doubles (11) and runs batted in (31).
Apr. 9-15
Folkinga continued to pound GNAC pitching going 8-for-16, hitting four home runs and driving in 10 runs as the Wolves won three of four games with Northwest Nazarene to extend their lead in the conference race to eight games. Folkinga, who is on a 12-game hitting streak, is batting .475 in conference games (111 points higher than his full-season average of .364). He leads the GNAC with nine home runs (7 in GNAC contests) and 48 RBI (28 in conference games).
May 7-13
Folkinga had eight hits in 15 at bats, including a double, triple and two home runs, to lead the Wolves to a four-game sweep of Montana State Billings. The Twin Falls, Idaho native also had nine RBI increasing his season total to 66, leaving him three shy of the GNAC single-season record of 69 set by WOU's Chris Ridenour in 2002. Folkinga won the GNAC Triple Crown for conference games, batting .453, hitting 11 home runs and driving in 46 runs. His 11 homers tied the conference single-season record set two years ago by WOU's Daniel Dillard and his 46 RBI broke the record of 39 by WOU's Greg McCarthy in 2005.
