Jacob Pettit, a senior lefty from Orting, Wash. (Orting HS/Green River CC) tossed his second consecutive nine-inning shutout, blanking Saint Martin’s on three hits in a 4-0 win Saturday. He walked one and fanned a career-high 10, while extending his scoreless inning streak to 20, the third longest in conference history. In the two shutouts, he allowed nine hits, walked just one and fanned 19. In the process, he lowered his season ERA to 1.80 to set the GNAC single-season record. He also finished the season with a 1.00 ERA in conference, as he gave up just six runs in 54 innings pitched.
