Ancheta is entering his seventh season with the Wolves in 2017.
 
In his first season at WOU, Ancheta doubled the squad’s win total from the previous year while the team went on to add more wins over the next two seasons, leading to fourth-place finishes in the GNAC standings in 2012 and 2013. Ancheta was awarded the GNAC Coach of the Year following the rapid improvement following the 2012 season that culminated in an appearace in the GNAC tournament championship match.

Under Ancheta’s guidance, WOU has produced 13 student-athletes who have earned all-conference honors while Lindsay Bauman (2011), Melissa Gonzalez (2012) and Amanda Rose Johnson (2013) have each been named GNAC Newcomer of the Year. Throughout his six seasons, his coaching record stands at 42-49-17.

In 2015, Western Oregon finished the season with an 8-8-1 overall record and a 4-7-1 Great Northwest Athletic Conference record. In 2014, the Wolves finished the season with a 6-8-4 overall record and 4-6-4 conference record, placing fifth in the GNAC. He helped place five athletes on the All-GNAC team.

In 2013, Ancheta led WOU to its highest win total (9) since the 2006 season. Western Oregon fell in the GNAC tournament semifinals in overtime after a record-breaking season. The Wolves finished fourth in the conference standings. WOU posted a school-record 12 shutouts during the season.

In 2012, the Wolves finished in fourth-place in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference standings. The finish was the highest for the Wolves in the previous six years as WOU advanced to the GNAC Women’s Soccer Championship while Ancheta was named GNAC Coach of the Year.

Prior to joining WOU, Ancheta served as the boy's head soccer coach at Central Catholic High School in Portland, Ore. In addition to his role at Central Catholic, Ancheta also served as the U17 girl's soccer club coach with the FC Portland Soccer Academy.

In his seven years at Central Catholic, Ancheta led the boy's squad to seven straight Mt. Hood Conference titles and captured the OSAA Class 6A state championship during the 2007 season. He compiled a record of 94-14-7 in his seven seasons, earning conference coach of the year honors six times.

During his time at Central Catholic, Ancheta also served as a girl's club coach with the FC Portland Soccer Academy, working primarily with the U15 through U18 age groups. The club, founded by the legendary Clive Charles, has grown to be recognized as one of the top club programs in the nation. Ancheta has worked with the club since 1985 and captured six state titles during his tenure.

Prior to his stint at Central Catholic, Ancheta served as the head boy's soccer coach at Barlow High School in Gresham, Ore. During his four seasons, Ancheta compiled a record of 40-17-5, capturing the Mt. Hood Conference title during the 1999 and 2000 seasons.

Ancheta played collegiately at Warner Pacific College before transferring to Oregon State, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in health promotion and education in 1991. He played professionally with the Portland Timbers (Western Soccer League) and the Portland Pride (Continental Indoor League).

Ancheta is married to Martha Ancheta as the couple currently resides in Clackamas, Ore.
