ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Hilary Tanneberg registered a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Central Washington to a 69-56 win over Western Oregon Saturday, Mar. 7.
With the loss the Wolves end the season at 8-19 and 3-13 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The win moves the Wildcats (7-20, 4-12) to seventh place in the GNAC standings.
Katie Torland led all scorers with 22 points.

Whitney Chase paced WOU with seven rebounds apiece. Shaina Afoa, Stephanie Wenke and Sophie Russell all had 14 points to go along with Tanneberg's 16 for CWU.
Western Oregon shot just 29.1 percent in the game (16-for-55) while Central Washington connected on 51.8 percent of its shots (29-for-56). Despite the shooting discrepancy, the Wolves were able to stay in the game through execution, as they committed only 10 turnovers, including just one in the first half, and went 19-of-27 at the free throw line.
WOU led 35-34 at the half, but CWU opened the second half with a 7-0 run to take a lead, which it would never relinquish. The Wolves used a 9-2 spurt to close within two points at 53-51 with 7:19 remaining but CWU closed out the game on a 16-5 run to seal the victory. During the run the Wildcats made 6-of-10 shots, including their first six as the Wolves went 0-of-7.
"We played with them until the half," noted Western Oregon head coach Greg Bruce. "We played were solid on offense and defense but in the second half we didn't maintain that same effort."
