MONMOUTH, Ore. - Jon Moe had a career-high 37 points and Alaska Fairbanks outscored Western Oregon by 20 points in the second half to earn a 95-83 win Saturday, Feb. 20.

The Nanooks (7-15, 2-11 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) overcame a nine-point halftime deficit by outshooting the Wolves (11-13, 4-9 GNAC) by 30-percent (56.3 to 26.8) in the second period. During this time they connected on 6-of-10 shots from three-point range and 12-of-16 from the charity stripe.

Jon Moe hit seven of his 14 attempts from long range in the game and 12-of-23 overall en route scoring his 37 points. His backcourt mate Emmanuel Jenkins also added 25 points and Nashorn Maynord had a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Rico Myles recorded a double-double for the Wolves with 22 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. He went 7-of-15 from the field and 8-of-13 and the line. Blair Wheadon also had 18 points and Kolton Nelson added 16 off the bench on 7-of-10 shooting.

Western Oregon jumped to an 18-point lead at the 8:43 mark in the first half with a 28-9 run, but the Nanooks would chip away at the Wolves' lead and cut their lead to eight points at the half (49-41). Alaska Fairbanks then open the second half with a 15-4 run to go up 56-53 and it would never relinquish the lead.

The Western Oregon men's basketball team will continue its season next week with a road trip to Montana State Billings (Feb. 25) and Northwest Nazarene (Feb. 27).
