Wolves fall in season opener to Oregon State

CORVALLIS, Ore.
- The Western Oregon women's basketball team dropped its season opener to Oregon State 96-32 on Friday, Nov. 11.

Rylee Peterson was the only Wolf to reach double-figures as she registered 11 points against the NCAA Division I opponent. Peterson hit 3-of-12 shots from the field, but those three baskets led the team, as Western Oregon struggled all game against the size of the Beavers.

The Wolves were held to a 19.6 shooting percentage in the game, which included making 4-of-24 shots in the first half.

Meanwhile, OSU had four players reach double-figures scoring including Earlysia Marchbanks who led all scorers with 15 points.

Oregon State led 41-19 at the half and carried that to the final margin of victory.

The bright spots for WOU were forcing OSU into 19 turnovers and hitting 10 of its 12 shots from the free throw line. Dana Goularte also came off the bench to deliver six points and five rebounds.

The Wolves' next game will be Nov. 18th when they host Cal State Los Angeles at 3:00 p.m., in the GNAC/CCAA Challenge.
