WBB Travels to Dixie State for holiday tournament

MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Western Oregon women's basketball team returns to action this week as the Wolves travel to St. George, Utah, for the Dixie State Thanksgiving Tournament. The Wolves open play on Friday, Nov. 25, at 4:00 p.m. when they face Dixie State before closing out play at the tournament on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 11:00 a.m. against the Academy of Art.

Western Oregon enters the week with a mark of 0-4 on the season after a 64-59 loss to Cal State San Marcos on Monday. Rylee Peterson leads the WOU attack as she leads the squad at 15.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

Dixie State, the host of the tournament, picked up a pair of wins over the weekend to move to 3-1 on the season. The Lady Rebels are led by Erica Haynes, who leads two players in double figures at 14.8 points per game.

Academy of Art fell to 1-2 on the year after a loss to Cal State Monterey Bay last week. Alisa Griggs leads two players in double figures at 13.3 points per game.

Western Oregon is 0-1 all-time against Dixie State while the meeting with Academy of Art will be the first in series history between the two schools.

Following the holiday invitational, Western Oregon will return to action on Thursday, Dec. 1, when they open conference play against Central Washington at 7:00 p.m.
