Women's Hoops hosts Seawolves on Senior Day

Wolves face nationally-ranked Alaska Anchorage on Saturday to close out home potion of schedule.

MONMOUTH, Ore. – Looking for its third straight win, the Western Oregon women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 7:00 p.m. as they host No. 11 Alaska Anchorage in the regular-season home finale. Tickets to the contest are $6 for adults and $4 for non-WOU students and seniors and can be purchased online or by calling the ticket office at 503-838-8449.

The Wolves enter the contest winners of two straight after Western Oregon downed Alaska Fairbanks, 90-81, on Thursday night. Lorrie Clifford led the way for the Wolves with a career-high 28 points as four Wolves players scored in double figures in the victory.

Senior Rylee Peterson continues to lead the Western Oregon attack at 16.0 points per game while senior Jade Haas is averaging 10.2 points per game for the Wolves. Peterson, Haas and senior Dijana Topalovic will be honored prior to the start of the game as the trio will be playing in their final home game of their careers.

Alaska Anchorage, ranked No. 11 in the country with a mark of 23-4 overall, clinched a share of the conference title with a 74-42 win over Saint Martin's on Thursday. Haley Holmstead leads the way for the Seawolves, averaging 15.1 points per game as UAA is outscoring opponents by 24.4 points per game.

Following the game against the Seawolves, Western Oregon will close out the season as it opens a two-game road trip on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 6:00 p.m. against Northwest Nazarene in Nampa, Idaho.
