FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Three Western Oregon men's basketball players scored in double figures; however, it would not be enough to overcome a big first-half run by Alaska Fairbanks as the Wolves fell to the Nanooks, 89-56, in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest on Saturday.
With the loss, WOU falls to 7-6 on the season, 2-3 in GNAC play while Alaska Fairbanks improves to 10-4 overall, 5-1 in league play.
UAF managed to build a large lead in the first half as the Nanooks would hold WOU to 37.1 percent from the floor for the contest.

Kolton Nelson each scored 12 for the Wolves as WOU went 23-of-62 from the field.
Dominique Brinson led UAF and all players with 28 points as he finished the night 10-of-13 from the field and 6-of-8 from behind the three-point line. Stefan Tica added 13 points and Sergej Pucar tallied 10 for the Nanooks as UAF finished 35-of-62 from the field.
WOU will look to rebound from the road trip when the Wolves return home to host defending national champion Western Washington on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 7:00 p.m.
