Box Score NAMPA, Idaho – Trailing by as many as 22 points Northwest Nazarene, the Western Oregon men's basketball team rallied to tie the score with less than one minute remaining; however, the Crusaders would score the game's final four points to defeat the Wolves, 94-90, in the season finale on Saturday. With the loss, WOU concludes the season with a record of 10-16 overall, 5-13 in league play, while NNU finishes with a mark of 13-13 overall, 7-11 in conference action.
NNU led from the start as the Crusaders scored the first 10 points of the contest and built a 53-31 lead with 1:58 remaining in the first half. The Crusaders would hold a 57-36 lead before the Wolves would begin to chip away at the large deficit.
Trailing 87-77 with 2:34 remaining, the Wolves would embark on a 13-3 run over the next two minutes and would tie the score at 90-90 on a three-point play by
Tyler Funk with 22 seconds remaining. The Crusaders would respond; however, with the final four points of the contest on free throws by Kenny Jones and Kevin Rima as NNU would pick up the season split against WOU.
Andy Avgi led five WOU players in double figures with a game-high 27 points on 9-of-15 from the field.

Devon Alexander (10) and
James Gehring (10) also finished the contest in double figures as the Wolves shot 32-of-70 from the floor (45.7 percent).
Jones led NNU with 21 points while Keith Moilanen added 18 in the victory. The Crusaders shot 27-of-63 (42.9 percent) from the field while hitting 8-of-20 from behind the three-point line. Jones also added 10 assists in the win to record a double-double while Rima posted a double-double with 18 rebounds.
The game marked the final contest for a trio of WOU seniors as
Kolton Nelson,
Brandon Troxel and Gehring played in their final games for the Wolves.
