UCSD STORYLINES- A battle of NCAA Division II undefeated teams is set for Monday night in La Jolla, Calif., as Western Oregon (9-0) visits UC San Diego (7-0) for a 7 p.m. showdown.
- WOU and UCSD enter the week as two of five undefeated teams in Division II (Cal Poly Pomona, Queens, West Liberty).
- Western Oregon's nine-game winning streak is the longest for the Wolves since becoming an NCAA Division II institution in 2000. The longest win streak in school history dates back to the 1981-82 season with 22 consecutive victories.
- The Wolves and Tritons meet for the first time ever on Monday. Against other competition in the CCAA, WOU has a 29-40 record all-time.

Kadeem Strickland led the Wolves with 17 points in a 90-65 win over Corban University on Dec. 11. Strickland made five 3-pointers to post a career-high. The Wolves had five players in double figures - Strickland,

- Western Oregon has shot over 50 percent overall and over 40 percent from behind the 3-point arc in five consecutive games. WOU has not allowed an opponent to shoot better than 50 percent from the field in the last eight games.
- Six of the nine WOU victories have come by double figures. The largest margin of victory was 33 at Concordia on Dec. 1 (92-59) while the smallest margin came in the season opener against Point Loma (six points, 82-76).

Andy Avgi leads the Wolves and is second in the GNAC at 23.0 points per game while shooting .680 from the floor. Avgi has scored in double figures in all seven games he has played, including 20 points in six of those games.
- Including Avgi, seven Western Oregon players are averaging more the 8.5 points per game.

Devon Alexander (11.1) and
Alex Roth (11.1) are all in double figures while
Julian Nichols (9.9),
Jordan Wiley (9.8) and
Kadeem Strickland (8.9) follow closely behind.

Devon Alexander has both WOU double-doubles this season: 12 points/10 rebounds on Nov. 21 against Warner Pacific and 19 points/11 rebounds against Montana State Billings on Dec. 5.

Jim Shaw is in his first season at WOU. His previous assistant coaching stops includeSaint Mary's, Washington, Oklahoma, Portland, Montana State, Southern Utah, Oregon State, Chemeketa and Idaho State.
- Western Oregon was picked to finish second in the GNAC regular season title by the league's coaches receiving four of 11 possible first-place votes.
ABOUT UC SAN DIEGO- Head coach Eric Olen is in his third season at the helm of the Tritons' program and owns a 38-22 overall record.
- The Tritons are an unblemished 7-0 on the season, including two wins over nationally ranked opponents (No. 4 CBU, No. 10 Colorado Mines). UCSD won two CCAA league games last week after knocking off Sonoma State on the road (69-55) and defeating Cal State Monterey Bay at home (81-62).
- Drew Dyer and Adam Kile lead the team with 14.6 points per game each while Aleks Lipovic and Chris Hansen each average 9.9 points per game for UCSD.
- Dyer and Lipovic are an accurate duo from behind the arc. Dyer is 22-of-43 (.512) and Lipovic is 19-of-36 (.528).
- As a team, UC San Diego is shooting .518 from the field and .426 from behind the arc, making an average of 8.3 three-pointers per game.
