BURNABY, B.C. – The Western Oregon women's soccer lost a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at Simon Fraser, 6-0, on Saturday afternoon.

The Wolves (4-6, 1-3 GNAC) played even with the Clan (3-3-1, 1-2 GNAC) over the first 12 minutes of the match, earning three straight corner kicks before a shot from
Shelby Peterson in the 13
th minute sailed high to end the Wolves attack.

SFU scored twice in the span of 35 seconds to take a 2-0 lead, and added two more first half goals to lead 4-0 after 45 minutes. The Wolves were outshot 21-2 in the first half with
Caitlin Kastelic making 12 saves.

WOU came out firing in the second half with five shots, four on goal, over a nine-minute span.
Mariah Konyn was stopped by a save and
Taylor Higa had three straight attempts.
Dacia Alexander had the final shot of the string that was saved by the SFU keeper.

Higa and
Morgan Roan had the final three shots of the match in the 82
nd and 83
rd minutes respectively.

SFU won the shot battle for the match, 38-10. Kastelic closed out 90 minutes with 19 saves.

The Wolves close out a road swing on Thursday, Oct. 6 at Saint Martin's.
