LACEY, Wash. – Western Oregon baseball completed a four-game sweep of the Saint Martin's Saints on Sunday afternoon at Saints Field. The Wolves worked behind a shutout performance from
Darrien Moran in an 8-0 victory before needing a comeback and extra innings to down SMU 7-4 in the second game.

WOU improves to 24-13 overall, with their winning streak extended to 14 games, and 19-8 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

In game one, Moran (W, 4-3) pitched a complete-game shutout with a season-high 10 strikeouts. He induced 10 groundouts and six fly ball outs, as well. The lefty has not allowed a run in his last 18 innings.

Western Oregon scored single tallies in the first and third innings before a big four-run frame in the fifth.

Brandon Oliver led the Wolves at the plate going 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and three knocked in while
Cody Sullivan went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in. Oliver brought in WOU's first three runs with a sacrifice fly in the first, a single to left field in the third and beating out an infield single to shortstop in the fifth. Sullivan added a two-run triple to cap off the fifth frame for a 6-0 lead.

Erik Long singled down the right field line for a RBI single in the seventh, scoring
Brock Pradere. The final tally came on a sacrifice fly from Sullivan in the final frame.

In the series finale,
Elias Bedolla earned his first win of the season going four innings in relief allowing three hits and striking out three.

Three players finished with multiple hits in the game, once again led by Oliver who went 4-for-5 with two runs batted in. Pradere and Long each had two hits as the top three in the Western Oregon lineup combined to go 8-for-11 with four runs scored.

Down 4-3 entering the seventh inning, Oliver extended the game with a RBI double to the opposite field, scoring
Jay Leverett who led off the frame with a single.

In the second extra frame, the ninth inning, Pradere got aboard with an infield single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Oliver singled to left and advanced all the way to third after a fielding error that scored Pradere with the go-ahead run.
Trevor Podratz hit a fly ball deep enough for Oliver to tag up from third and score. Two pitches later, Sullivan homered to left field, his team-leading sixth of the year, to push the lead to three runs.

Bedolla allowed a walk and a single, but he was able to close out the Saints without a run.

The Wolves open their final road-swing of the regular season on Friday, April 22 against the team directly behind them in the GNAC standing, the Crusaders of Northwest Nazarene. First pitch of Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for a 3 p.m. Mountain time start (2 p.m. Pacific).
