TURLOCK, Calif. – The Western Oregon women's soccer team fell to Fresno Pacific, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at Warrior Stadium on the final day of the 2016 Warrior Challenge, hosted by Stanislaus State.

The Wolves (2-2) had five shots, with three on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net despite good looks. Fresno Pacific (2-1) scored two goals in a three-minute span late in the second half to win their second consecutive match.

The Sunbirds scored in the 79
th minute on a header goal by Rachel Anderson and added insurance on an 18-yard shot from Amber Rodriguez in the 81
st minute.

Caitlin Kastelic had nine saves for the Wolves. Senior
Taylor Higa had the majority of the WOU shots with four while junior
Kai Mahuka had a chance on goal, but her header was saved in the 18
th minute.

Western Oregon returns to action at 3 p.m. on Wednesday against Oregon Tech at home in Monmouth. The Wolves last faced the Owls in 2012 and have a 2-0 all-time advantage over Oregon Tech. After facing OIT on Wednesday, the Wolves will open Great Northwest Athletic Conference play on Saturday against Western Washington on the road.
