th minute goal from senior
Taylor Higa to defeat host Academy of Art by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Beach Chalet Soccer Field.

The victory pushed Western Oregon to 2-0 on the season.

Higa notched the game-winner after connecting on a free kick from 30 yards after a scoreless 34 minutes of play. The goal is her second game-winner of the season.

The Urban Knights (0-3) had two very good looks with just over a minute to go, but freshman goalkeeper
Caitlin Kastelic ensured the shutout with timely saves. Her second consecutive shutout came after facing 12 total shots, six of them on goal.

The Wolves held the advantage in shots, 15-12, and in shots on goal, 9-6.

Western Oregon continues its California road trip playing the Warrior Challenge beginning Friday, Sept. 9 against host Stanislaus State at 7 p.m.
