LACEY, Wash. – The Western Oregon Wolves were dealt their second consecutive loss on Saturday, falling 64-56 to the Saint Martin's Saints at Marcus Pavilion.

Western Oregon (17-8, 10-6) jumped out to a quick lead, taking a 10-3 advantage inside of the first three minutes. Saint Martin's (21-3, 14-2) bounced back with a 16-2 run over the ensuing seven minutes that included a run of four 3-pointers. The Saints would not trail again in the game.

WOU struggled to find their offensive touch in the first half after the hot start, shooting just 29.2 percent from the field in the first half on 24 attempts.

Trailing by 11 at 33-22 at halftime, the Wolves turned their shooting around by hitting 15-of-27 shots in the second half for 55.6 percent.

Dalven Brushier contributed 10 points and five rebounds for the Wolves in a team-high 31 minutes.

The Wolves got within four points late after trailing by as many as 12 in the second half. SMU scored the final five points of the game to hold on for the win.

Rhett Baerlocher led all scorers with 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Saints. It was the second double-double of the season for the senior.

For the Saints, the win is just the third time they have won consecutive games over the Wolves and the first time since three straight wins between Jan. 11, 2011 and Jan. 14, 2012.

With four games left to play in the regular season, WOU now sits four games back of first place in conference play.

The Wolves now return home for their final two regular season home games Feb. 21 and 23. WOU hosts Northwest Nazarene at 7:30 p.m. and Central Washington at 7 p.m., respectively, next week at NPE Gym.
