SALT LAKE CITY --- The Western Oregon men's soccer team lost to Colorado Mesa 6-1 Saturday morning at Dumke Field.
The Wolves (1-2) took a 1-0 lead on freshman
Abraham Villalobos' first career goal - assisted by Ales Grignon - in the 19th minute.
However, the Mavericks (2-1) tied it in the 28th minute before scoring two more goals in the final five minutes of the first half to take a 3-1 lead at the break. Three more CMU goals made the final 6-1.
The Mavericks outshot the Wolves 22-4, including 15-3 on shots on goal.
WOU returns to action 1:30 p.m. Friday at home against CSU Dominguez Hills.
