BILLINGS, Mont. --- The Western Oregon men's basketball team kept it close on the road with first-place MSU Billings, but the Wolves fell short 68-59 Saturday at Alterowitz Gym.
WOU (5-9 overall, 2-5 GNAC) and the Yellowjackets (14-4, 8-0) were tied 41-41 with 12:39 left after a
Carson Frincke 3-pointers for the Wolves, but it would be the last time WOU would be even with MSUB.
The Wolves trailed just 61-56 with 1:54 remaining after a Daisone HUghes bucket before the Yellowjackets answered on their next possession with a 3-pointer to pull away for good.
Jahville Collins led WOU with 17 points and eight rebounds,
Cameron Benzel added 13 points, five rebounds and two steals while Frincke came off the bench with 11 points.
The Wolves return home Thursday to host Alaska Anchorage in WOU's Abby's House Game (wear yellow to support Stalking Awareness Month).
