ELLENSBURG, Wash. --- The Western Oregon women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against Central Washington at Tomlinson Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
The Wolves (8-4-5, 5-4-4) got on the board first with a goal from Raeanne Jones in the 24th minute. Jones has tallied five goals this season.
The Wildcats (3-12-3, 2-8-3) answered with a goal in the 28th minute, evening the score at 1-1. Less than a minute later, WOU put themselves ahead when Olivia Johnsrud scored a goal with a Hannah Rispler assist. It was Johnsrud's first goal of the season. The Wildcats managed to level the score at 2-2 with a goal in the 58th minute.
After this match, the Wolves maintained third place with 19 points with one game remaining and the top four teams making the GNAC Championships. As of 3 p.m. Thursday, Northwest Nazarene is in fourth place with 16 points with one game to go, Simon Fraser has 15 points with two games remaining and Montana State Billings with two games remaining (SFU and MSUB play each other 6 p.m. Thursday evening).
The Wolves will face off against Northwest Nazarene in their final regular season match on Saturday at 12 p.m. (PT).
