OAKLAND, Calif. --- The Western Oregon men's basketball team fell on the road at Academy of Art 99-72 Wednesday night at Laney College.
The Wolves (3-6) were tied with the Urban Knights (6-3) 18-18 when
Makaio Morphy drained a 3-pointer with 11:44 remaining in the first half. However, Academy of Arts went on a 16-0 run over the next four minutes to pull away for what turned out to be for good.
Cameron Benzel paced WOU with 16 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals.
Kris Cook battled foul trouble but still had 13 points, Morphy finished with 11 points - hitting three 3-pointers - and
Qiant Myers had 10 points.
The Wolves return home to take on Cal Poly Humboldt noon Saturday at New PE Building.
