BILLINGS, Mont. --- The Western Oregon men's soccer team used a pair of second-half goals to defeat Montana State Billings 2-0 Saturday at Yellowjacket Soccer Field.
The Wolves (4-2-1 overall, 1-0-1 GNAC) got on the board in the 69th minute when
Gabriel Silva scored to put the Wolves on top - assisted by
Alejandro Velasco. Velasco then scored his team-high sixth goal of the season in the 80th minute (assisted by
Yahir Ocampo) to give WOU insurance on MSUB (3-3-1, 0-1-0).
The Wolves out shot the Yellowjackets 16-9 in the contest - including 11-3 on shots on goal. Silva finished the game with eight shots with seven on target while Velasco had five shots - four on target.
Juan Suarez picked up the shutout, collecting three saves in the win.
WOU returns to action 5 p.m. (PT) Thursday at Northwest Nazarene.
