MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The 14th-ranked Western Oregon men's soccer team picked up the No. 9 seed in Super Region 4 and will face No. 8 Point Loma 2 p.m. Thursday in Pueblo, Colorado, in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship.
The contest will be the only game in the opening round played Thursday with the rest being played on Friday. Point Loma doesn't play on Sundays therefore the bracket was moved up a day as the winner of this contest takes on host and defending national runner-up CSU Pueblo 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Wolves (13-4-1) were automatic qualifiers after winning the GNAC title this season and are making their first NCAA appearance in the program's third season.
WOU takes on a Point Loma team (11-3-3) ranked sixth in the nation coming off its second straight PacWest championship.
