MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon men's soccer team scored first, but Seattle Pacific quickly answered and the teams played to a 1-1 draw Thursday afternoon at WOU Turf Field.
The Wolves (4-4-3 overall, 1-2-1 GNAC) got on the board in the 16th minute when
Yahir Ocampo Navarro sent a free kick just left of the goal box wehre
Harper Neubeck headed it across to the other side where
Pedro Monge-Munoz - who had just entered as an injury sub - scored his first collegiate goal with a header to the right side of the net to make it 1-0.
However, the Falcons (6-2-4, 1-1-2) answered in the 24th minute on a one-timer on a ball off the crossbar.
SPU finished the game with more shots (16-10) and shots on goal (7-5). WOU keeper
Austin Valdez finished the game with six saves.Â
The Wolves return to action 10 a.m. Saturday at home against Northwest Nazarene.
