MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon men's basketball held Westmont to below 30 percent shooting while
Jadin Penigar had 34 points and 10 boards in a 68-50 victory Saturday at Wolves Athletic Center.
The Wolves (2-2) used a strong first half to build a comfortable 33-16 lead - including holding the Warriors (1-3) to 18.8 percent shooting from the field (6-for-32) in the opening 20 minutes.
Penigar finished 14-for-26 from the field, including 6-for-11 from 3-point range to go along with his 10 rebounds.
AB Gilchrist finished with 10 points and two rebounds while
Carson Frincke had 10 points, four rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
WOU also shot 42.9 percent from 3-point range (12-for-28), including 7-for-13 in the second half.
The Wolves head to Idaho next week for the Northwest Nazarene Thanksgiving Classic where they will take on Oklahoma Christian on Friday and CSU Los Angeles on Saturday.
