LACEY, Wash. — The Western Oregon women's basketball team fell 60-51 to Saint Martin's on Saturday afternoon at Marcus Pavilion.
WOU (11-11, 6-8 GNAC) led by two entering the fourth quarter, but Saint Martin's (14-9, 11-3 GNAC) used a 26-point final period to pull away and secure the conference win.
The game featured eight ties and 15 lead changes, with neither team able to create separation through three quarters. Western Oregon held a 35-34 edge at the end of the third after Salma Youngblood knocked down a 3-pointer in the closing minute.
Ciona Wells paced the Wolves with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers. Kylani Rookstool added 11 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Danyell Booker finished with 10 points off the bench.
The Wolves return home Thursday for a 5:15 p.m. matchup against Central Washington in their Black History Month Game.
