MONMOUTH, Ore. — The Western Oregon men's basketball team fell 80-74 to Northwest Nazarene on Senior Day Saturday at the Wolves Athletic Center.
The Wolves battled throughout, tying the game six times and exchanging the lead on six occasions. After trailing 36-30 at halftime, WOU matched the Nighthawks with 44 second-half points but could not overcome the deficit.
Jadin Penigar led Western Oregon with 24 points, going 9-for-10 at the free-throw line while adding four rebounds. Braydon Olson added 11 points, and Noah Ogoli provided 12 points and five rebounds off the bench. Carson Frincke finished with nine points and four rebounds.
Western Oregon closes the regular season on the road, traveling to Alaska Anchorage on Thursday before facing Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday.
