MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon men's soccer team was in control from the opening whistle on against Chaminade in a 3-0 win Saturday night at WOU Soccer Field.
The Wolves (2-1-3) outshot the Swords (0-5) 18-2 in the game, including not allowing a shot on goal in the shutout.
WOU got on the board in teh 29th minute when
Archie Dhima dribbled down the center of the field, found
Erick Chavez on his left who crossed it over to
Marcus Vazquez for the goal.
The score was 1-0 heading into the second half when
Sean Aoun scored on a header on a cross from
Hayden Galas to make it 2-0 in the 58th minute. WOU rounded out its scoring in the 88th minute when
Javier Blas Casarez crossed the ball in the penalty area to
Jacob Solek who tapped it to Dhima who backheeled it in for his team-best sixth goal of the season.
Austin Valdez picked up the clean sheet - facing two shots in the contest.
WOU returns to action in Salem 1 p.m. Thursday at Pioneer Sports Park when the Wolves host Midwestern State.
