Biography
Villar arrives from Adams State University (CO) and is originally from Madera, Calif. And spent the past two-plus years competing for the Grizzlies. Running for one of the top cross country teams in the nation, Villar was an integral part of a team that won conference, finished second at regionals and later placed fourth at the NCAA Championships in 2018. During that season he placed 15th at the RMAC Championships, 10th at regionals and 69th at the NCAA Championships. Early on in his track career, Villar set a PR in the 3K collecting a time of 8:19.85 competing at the Power 5 event in Colorado Springs. During the 2019 cross country season, Villar helped the Grizzlies place second in conference, third at regionals and runner-up at the NCAA Championships. In those races, Villar came in 18th at the RMAC Championships, 26th at regionals and 64th at the NCAA Championships. He set new PR marks in both the 8K and the 10K in two of the final three cross country meets of the season. Villar concluded his track career competing in a trio of meets in the 3K, posting a seventh and eighth place finish at the Power 5 and Don Kirby Elite Invitational. During his high school career at Madera South, Villar ran the 200, 400, 800, 1,600, mile, 3K and 3,200. He ran a time of 9:04 as a junior in high school in the 3,200.
