SFU Postgame Quotes: 2/26/14

Brady Bergeson
WOU Head Coach

On the team’s performance…
“Defensively, we always can start with that side of the ball. We were plus six on the turnover margin. I thought our efforts in the second half with our ball pressuring our rotations was the difference in the game. We did a good job on the offensive glass tonight, which hasn’t always been the case all year, and when we do it, we’re pretty good at it. That helped us take the edge off offensively when some of those jump shots were missing.”

On thoughts about the end of the regular season…
“We still feel like our best basketball is in front of us. I don’t think I have them executing offensively with consistency the way we need to, and I think we still got some room there—a lot of room for growth. I think our ceiling is still pretty high. It’s on my plate and all of ours to really see if we can push this forward, offensively where we can start to connect on some things that we’re not connecting on, and that will be the target. We never go a day without talking about and working on the defensive end because that’s a source of pride for us. I think we’ve got a lot of space to make up offensively still.”

On thoughts about the televised game and the student fans…
“It was great—beautiful atmosphere. I really appreciate all of the fans coming out tonight and support. It was a lot of fun. They were great, and they made a nice difference.”
