J.J. Mascolo enters his first year as a member of the Western Oregon Baseball Coaching Staff.  Mascolo’s main duties will include coaching Outfielders plus assisting with base running and hitting.

Mascolo has spent the last 4 years as an assistant coach at Chemeketa CC as the infield coach and recruiting coordinator.  During his tenure at Chemeketa, the Storm made appearances in the NWAACC tournament twice and won the NWAACC south on 1 occasion.  Mascolo coached 4 All-Conference Infielders during his time with the Storm. 

In the summer of 2012 J.J. was instrumental as a co-founder of the Post 58 Canyon Crushers, a AAA American Legion team.  He has been the head coach for the team during the past two seasons and in just their second year of existence; Mascolo led the Salem based team to the 2013 State Championship.  Mascolo has also spent time as an assistant with the Eugene Challengers.

Mascolo spent the 2008 and 2009 seasons as a member of two Western Oregon Baseball regional teams.  He helped lead the Wolves to two GNAC conference titles and in 2009, as a shortstop, was a member of the ABCA/Rawlings all-region team.  Prior to his time at WOU, Mascolo played two seasons at San Mateo JC.  During his time at San Mateo the team was able to capture two Coast Conference Championships and in 2007 Mascolo was named the team’s most valuable player.

Mascolo, a Eugene, Oregon native graduated from Marist High School in 2005.  He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Western Oregon in 2010 in Exercise Science.  Mascolo, currently resides in Salem Oregon.
