Kegan (pronounced K-gan) Bone begins his first year as an assistant men's basketball coach under Jim Shaw at Western Oregon University this season.
Prior to arriving at Western Oregon, Bone was the Director of Video Operations at his alma mater – University of Washington – for three seasons (2012-15). While with the Huskies, Bone was responsible for all video materials in relation to the men's basketball program that included scouting opponents, post-game/practice evaluations, and the recruitment of potential players. Bone worked closely with the coaches to break down opponent strategy and player tendencies through video analysis. Bone also created video clips for individual players to improve their personal game performance while also showing film, organzing events, and interacting with potential recruits during on-campus visits.
Before moving into his role as Director of Video Operations, Bone was the Head Basketball Manager at Washington for three seasons (2009-12). Bone worked as the liaison between the coaches and managerial staff, while also preparing the court for practices and games that included stat-keeping preparation, running the clock for drills, and proactively assessing player needs for equipment.
Along with his work at Washington, Bone has been the Director or Assistant Director for the Lorenzo Romar Basketball Camps since 2012. Some of the duties that Bone handled at the camp were hiring staff for the camps, ordering supplies, and handling marketing efforts. Bone also managed the camp schedules and employees on a day-to-day basis in order for everything to run smoothly.
A graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Sociology, Bone played two seasons at Everett Community College after prepping at Snohomish High School.
