Starting her fourth season in Monmouth, Mariah Jimenez joined the Western Oregon softball staff in 2016. She works mainly with the infielders on basic fielding and mentality. Jimenez also helps with the hitting fundamentals of the entire team, and she is in charge of the mentorship program for the team.
Jimenez has also coached for Something Special in Vancouver, Washington for four years.
Previously, she played softball for Concordia University from 2012 to 2015. During her senior year, the team went to the NAIA World Series in Sioux City, Iowa where they finished third at the national championships. Jiminez was named to the NAIA Softball All-World Series Team for her efforts in the postseason run.
Helping the team to a 46-19 overall record, she received Honorable Mention All-Cascade Collegiate Conference in 2015 after hitting .362 on the season with a .459 on-base percentage.
Jimenez's favorite movie is For the Love of the Game. Her favorite quote came from this movie, which she combined with another saying from her favorite baseball player, Cal Ripken Jr. The final quote is: "Clear the mechanism, play hard always."
