Ben Kososkie, having served as a coach at the collegiate, high school and club level, joined the Western Oregon University soccer staff for the 2019 season and has already been helping the team this fall.
“We’re excited to add Ben to the staff! He brings with him a lot of experience at many levels. He’ll be able to jump in right away and start contributing to the group,” Head Coach Kacey Bingham said.
After taking over as director of coaching and operations of the Sereno Soccer Club in Tucson, Ariz., Kososkie remained in Tucson and also coached the Catalina Foothills High School team handling all operations of the program.
During the 2016 season, he then moved on to Waterloo, Iowa where he was the head coach for both the men’s and women’s soccer programs for Hawkeye Community College until 2018. He ran all facets of the program having elevated the women’s program from a 2-13 season to a 8-7-1 mark in 2017 while advancing to regionals. Kososkie coached 10 All-Region selections, over 20 All-Academic and one All-American nominee in two seasons.
Before arriving at Western Oregon University, Kososkie arrived in the area coaching the TFA Willamette Soccer Academy in Albany and then added Athletic Director/Resource Room Teacher for Colton High School in Salem.
Early on in his career he also spent time assisting with the Ft. Lowell Soccer Club, RockStar United and was the general manager of the Tucson Tiburons.
Kososkie received both his bachelor and master degrees from California University of Pennsylvania earning his bachelor of science in sport management and his master of science in sport management.
