Michael Ward, a senior from Eugene, Ore. (South Eugene High School), led the Wolves to a 4-1 win over No. 8 Chico State. Ward pitched the first 7.1 innings allowing five hits and one unearned run. He had three innings in which he did not allow a runner and two others in which just one runner reached base.
