The senior broke a school record in the 600 meters and was part of a solid relay performance for WOU at the University of Washington Indoor Preview. Sultessa bested the Western Oregon school record with a 600-meter time of 1:19.95, nearly three seconds faster than the previous best of 1:22.03 set by Brett Yancey in 1994. He also ran the second leg of the 4x400 relay helping WOU to a second place finish and the highest spot for an NCAA Division II school in the race.
