Wolves win second match Friday

ARCATA, Calif. - The Western Oregon University volleyball team dropped the opening set of a match for the first time this season but then responded with three straight set wins to defeat Humboldt State, Friday, Sept. 5, at Arcata, Calif.

The Wolves earned the four set victory over the Lumberjacks, 20-25, 25-19, 25-18 and 25-18, as it improved to 5-1 on the season.

"We played a solid game tonight," said head coach Brad Saindon, "nothing flamboyant but solid all around. We got contributions from everyone and I am very happy to move to 5-1."

The Western Oregon volleyball team will face Simpson University, from Redding, Calif., Saturday, Sept. 6, at 1:00 p.m., as it concludes the Humboldt State Tournament.
