SAN DIEGO -
Justin Speer hit a three-run hone run in the top of the ninth to lift the No. 30 Western Oregon baseball team to a 3-1 victory at No. 2 UC San Diego Saturday, Feb. 14.
The win was the second straight for the Wolves as they moved to 2-4 on the season. This was the first loss of the year for UC San Diego as they fell to 2-1.
Blake Keitzman started the game for the Wolves and pitched seven innings giving up just four hits and one earned run while striking out five and walking just one.
"Keitzman was phenomenal today," said Western Oregon head coach Jeremiah Robbins. "He battled through some very tough counts and found a way to keep us in the game."

Jason Moseby singled to left putting runner at first and second for Speer. The senior outfielder from Gresham, Ore. (Gresham HS) then delivered his second home run of the season to put the Wolves ahead 3-1.
WOU then turned to pitcher
Chad Lynch who pitched a perfect ninth with a strikeout to seal the victory for Western Oregon.
Jesse Nunley (1-1) earned the win as he pitched the eighth giving up a walk and a hit. Tim Shibuya who pitched 8.1 innings and had the shutout entering the ninth took the loss.
Western Oregon and UC San Diego will play the second game of the doubleheader beginning shortly.
