Chris Arce was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's All-West Region Second Team when the organization released its awards Friday.
The junior All-GNAC First Team shortstop had a breakout first season for the Wolves in 2026 after transferring from Cañada College (California) - leading the Wolves in every major offensive category except doubles. Arce hit .393 (3rd in the GNAC) with six homers, 10 doubles, two triples, 37 RBI, 44 runs scored and 15 stolen bases. The Inglewood, California, native's .496 on-base percentage was second in the GNAC and his 1.064 OPS and 72 hits were third in the conference.
Arce was incredibly reliable throughout the season - starting all 51 games for the Wolves and collecting a hit in 43 of those - including 23 multi-hit games. This included a 19-game hitting streak in the middle of the season and he ended the season on an 11-game hitting streak - leading the Wolves to a late charge to make the GNAC Championships and finish runner-up. Arce was named to the All-Tournament Team after going 8-for-16 (.500) with three homers, a triple, 11 RBI and six runs in four games.
