Sylvia Herrold and
Laura Sakala led the Wolves' attack posting 12 kills apiece with hitting percentages of .524 and .500, respectively, as the Western Oregon University volleyball team rallied from one set down to defeat Notre Dame de Namur, 19-25, 25-22, 25-19 and 25-13, Friday (Sept. 11) at the Viking Invitational.
This was the second straight win for Western Oregon as it moved to 3-6 on the year while dropping Notre Dame de Namur to 2-9.
Danielle Reese led the team with 14 kills to go along with 16 digs for her third double-double of the season.
Amy Herron was the assist leader with 44 while
Cally Young paced the Wolves with 21 digs and Sakala with 2.5 blocks.
The Wolves also won the important battles at the net and in hitting percentage as they outblocked the Argonauts eight to four and outhit them .252 to .153.
Next the Wolves will play West Texas A&M at 5:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11.
