LEWISTON, Idaho
- Jacob Pettit gave up just one unearned run and Cesar Lopez had three RBIs in Western Oregon's 6-4 win over Central Washington, Saturday (Feb. 20), at the Guardian Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Tournament.

Pettit (2-1) went to first seven innings allowing just five hits and no walks while striking out five. Brad Carter pitched the final 1.2 innings for the save.

While Pettit was holding down the Wildcats' bats, the Wolves' offense was staking him to a 6-1 lead. Leadoff batter Cesar Lopez was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, while No. 2 hitter Aaron Headrick also went 2-for-4 and had an RBI. Brad Verstegen added two hits, an RBI and two runs scored out of the eight hole.

Central Washington would mount a comeback effort in the eighth inning. They scored three runs and had two runners in scoring position with one out but Carter came into the game and got the next two batters to preserve the lead.
