BURNABY, B.C. - The Western Oregon volleyball team got 15 kills from
Danielle Reese and 12 from
Krissi Kemper to sweep Simon Fraser 25-15, 25-15 and 25-16 on Saturday (Oct. 15).
The Wolves (8-7, 7-4 GNAC) outhit the Clan .348 to .133 to earn their seventh Great Northwest Athletic Conference win of the season.
LesLyne Satele had 38 assists in the three set match. Reese needed just 28 swings to record those 15 kills for a .393 hitting percentage. Kemper had just two errors and 12 kills in her 22 swings.
Samantha Ward also added seven kills.
Western Oregon came out of the gates strong with 18 kills and just two errors for a .516 hitting percentage in the first set. The Wolves then held the Clan (0-15, 0-11 GNAC) to a .000 hitting percentage in the second set. WOU closed out the third set by scoring 13 of the last 19 points for its fourth sweep of the season.
Western Oregon will be at home next week to host Montana State Billings and Seattle Pacific. The Wolves will host MSU Billings in Old PE on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7:00 p.m., and Seattle Pacific on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7:00 p.m.
