MONMOUTH, Ore. - The Seattle Pacific Falcons got the best of the Western Oregon volleyball team with a 25-21, 25-21 and 25-20 win on Saturday, Oct. 22.
SPU (16-5, 10-2 GNAC) outhit Western Oregon (9-8, 8-5 GNAC) in all three sets to earn its sixth win in seven matches.
The Falcons' Lindsey Wodrich had a match-high 14 kills, and also added 16 digs.
Krissi Kemper and
Becky Blees each had seven kills while hitting over .300.
Danielle Reese led the Wolves with 11 kills and
Samantha Ward added 10 kills.
LesLyne Satele had 32 assists and
Cally Young posted 17 digs.
"I never thought we got anything going," Western Oregon head coach
Brad Saindon said. "We got in rhythm. We weren't consistent in our play or our effort.
"You aren't going to beat a team like that without a whole lot of people on your team being at your best and we just never got it going tonight," Saindon continued. "Hats off to SPU."
Western Oregon will be on the road next week to take on Northwest Nazarene on Thursday (Oct. 27) and Central Washington on Saturday (Oct. 29).
