SALEM, Ore.
– The Western Oregon men's basketball team came back to defeat Corban University 75-72 in the first round of the Capital City Classic on Friday, Nov. 25.

The win was the fourth straight for the Wolves (4-1), who will move into the finals of the Capital City Classic for the second straight season.

Kolton Nelson led four Wolves in double figures with 16 points. Blair Wheadon also chipped in with 14 points while Kris White added 11 and James Gehring 10. Gehring led the team with eight boards.

Western Oregon trailed throughout the game till the final minute when Jordan Freelander made a layup and got fouled, then hit the free throw to give WOU its first lead at 73-72.

The Wolves will await the winner of the Montana Tech and Willamette game as they attempt to defend their Capital City Classic title on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 7:00 p.m.
