MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Western Oregon women's basketball team returns to action this week as the Wolves travel to Laie, Hawai'i, to face BYU-Hawai'i on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 7:00 p.m. before closing out the road trip against Hawai'i Pacific on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 7:00 p.m. in Honolulu.
Western Oregon enters the trip with a mark of 2-8 on the season after falling to Portland State earlier this week.
Rylee Peterson had 27 points and 10 rebounds in the loss as the senior continues to lead the team at 17.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
Senior guard
Jade Haas has also played well for the Wolves, averaging 11.3 points to rank second on the squad in scoring while
Melissa Fowler has added 8.3 points per game for the Wolves.
BYU-Hawai'i enters with a mark of 1-6 on the year after the Seasiders split a pair of games against Central Washington last week. Forward Shayla Robinson led four Seasiders in double figures with 18 points as BYU-Hawai'i picked up its first win of the year.
Hawai'i Pacific enters the weekend with a mark of 5-4 on the year after falling to Montana State – Billings last week. Mana Hopkins leads four Seawarriors in double figures at 14.3 points per game.
Western Oregon leads the all-time series with Hawai'i Pacific, 1-0, while this weekend marks the first meeting with BYU-Hawai'i.
Following the weekend road trip, Western Oregon will return to conference action on Thursday, Dec. 29, when the Wolves travel to Seattle, Wash., to face Seattle Pacific at 7:00 p.m.
