LA JOLLA, Calif.
- Andy Fox and Aaron Headrick each had three hits to help Western Oregon win the final game of a four game series against No. 1 UC San Diego 7-5 on Sunday (Feb. 6).

Five of the Wolves' 12 hits went for extra bases and all but two starters had a hit. Fox and Glover each crossed the plate twice and Glover started a new hitting streak by going 2-for-4.

"We addressed our approach we had in each at-bat," said Western Oregon head coach Jeremiah Robbins. "Our hitters changed their mentally to being aggressive, not defensive."

Jason Wilson gave the Wolves' a strong performance in his first start in the red and white. He allowed just one run over the first six innings to earn the victory. Kirk Lind pitched the final 2.2 innings without allowing a run and just three hits for the save.

The Wolves (1-3) built a 7-1 lead with single runs in the first, fourth and fifth before exploding for a four-spot with two outs in the seventh.

"Going into this last game our backs were against the wall," explained Robbins "Our kids came out fighting and were on a mission today and battled in the box against a quality arm."

Greg Selarz took the loss for the Tritons (3-1). He pitched six innings allowing three runs (two earned) and seven hits.

The Wolves will now travel to Cal State Dominguez Hills for a four-game series Feb. 9-11.

"We got a taste of victory today and I was proud of our effort," concluded Robbins.
