Volleyball rebounds to defeat Northwest Nazarene

Wolves claim four-set victory over the Crusaders.

Box Score NAMPA, Idaho – Danielle Reese posted a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs as the Western Oregon volleyball team rebounded from a loss earlier in the week to defeat Northwest Nazarene, 3-1, in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match on Saturday night. With the win, WOU improved to 12-5 overall, 5-3 in league play, as Northwest Nazarene fell to 10-10 overall, 3-6 in conference play.

The Wolves claimed a 25-19, 19-25, 25-13, 25-22, victory in the contest as the Wolves hit .295 for the match while posting 10.5 team blocks. Reese led the way with 13 kills as the senior hit .500 for the match.

Krissi Kemper added 11 kills while hitting .550 as the Wolves posed 43 kills to just 10 attack errors. LesLyne Satele had 20 assists to lead the Wolves while Jordin Ramos added 16 assists.

On the defensive side of the ball, Megan Triggs added 11 digs while Becky Blees led all player with five block assists.

After splitting the first two sets, WOU hit .435 in an impressive third set as the Wolves would claim the match with a victory in a back-and-forth final set.

Becky Flores had 12 kills and Elayna Rice had 11 kills to lead the Crusaders.

WOU will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 18, as the Wolves travel to Fairbanks, Alaska, to face Alaska Fairbanks at 8:00 p.m.
