SEATTLE, Wash. – Seattle Pacific netted a pair of second-half goals as the Western Oregon women's soccer team fell to the Falcons, 2-0, in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, WOU falls to 7-8-1 overall, 5-6-1 in conference play as SPU improves to 12-2-2 overall, 9-1-2 in conference action.
The game opened with the Wolves on the attack as
Lindsay Bauman nearly put WOU ahead in the second minute; however, her shot deflected off the crossbar as the game remained scoreless.
With the game scoreless heading into the second half, Megan Lindsay finally put the Falcons on the board as she connected on a shot in the 66th minute to give SPU a one-goal lead.
Lindsay would extend the lead in the 79th-minute as she took a pass from Ali Martin and placed it into the back of the net for her 10th goal of the season as the Falcons grabbed a two-goal advantage.
WOU was unable to make a comeback as the Wolves dropped their second straight contest.
Hillary Lutz made seven saves in net for WOU while taking the loss as Alexa Hughes and Natalie Harold split time in net to record the combined shutout for SPU.
The Falcons held a decided, 18-6, edge in shot while holding a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Marina Austin led the way with two shots for the Wolves.
WOU will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 3:00 p.m. as the Wolves host Montana State Billings.
